Ms. Reeves ducked in and out straightening clothes and helping Emma achieve the pose the photographer wanted. Ms. Stephenson needed very little direction, and her warm relationship with Emma was obviously essentia! to getting Emma’s cooperation for endless posing.

Mrs. Swindler said the catalog will launch a major promotion of the Sperryville store as an outlet store for the catalog. Over the years the catalog has changed, but it keeps many of the elements it Had when it was launched. It still contains line drawings b> Rex Slack of Washington, and Mrs. Swindler said it always will, but more and more of it is photographs. Fashion photographs with live models and photographs of fashions lying down. Much of the rest is color artwork by Mr. Slack.

Mrs. Swindler said the summer catalog will be mailed to about one and a half million potential customers. As the business has grown fashions have become about half of the business, she said.

The current spring catalog was shot in October at Mary Frances and “Billy” Fannon's farm. The Fannon's daughter Beth is married to the Swindler's son. Scenic views of the mountains in fall folliage appear to have the colors of spring.

Mrs. Sw indler said she wants her customers to know that Country Manor is a family business.
