Behind at the ha+Tfthe JV ate away at the Clarke lead and tied the score at 48 with 1:36 left in the game. The game was again tied at 50 all with 16 seconds to go, but Clarke got the first basket and a foul call and the Panthers came up short, 53 to 50.
It was only the second loss for the JV which lost a game to George Mason Tuesday. Of the Clarke game, Coach Luther Stanley said, “Both teams played well. We can’t be ashamed of the loss. What hurt us was we missed the front end of one and one foul shots. They played with a lot of heart and desire.”
Jeff Atkins led the team in scoring with 24 points. Chris McLear had 11 and James Jenkins had seven rebounds and six points.
