“I’m very proud of them; they hung tough mentally,” Coach Laura Conklin said.
The JV had a somewhat easier time of it. In the first game Clarke got an early 2 to 0 lead. Rapp tied the score, but Clarke again took the lead and led 8 to 3 before losing the serve. With Fran Overdorf serving the Panthers gained a 12 to 8 lead. Clarke scored one more point but Angie Atkins served for the final Rapp points and a 15 to 9 victory.
In the second game Courtney Mauro carried the day taking the team from a 3 to 1 lead to a 9 to 1 lead before losing the serve. Clarke stormed back and was down only 12 to 10 before the Panthers added the final three points to take the game and match.
