Mr. Tompkins said he was approached bv members of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC), saying that RAAC would like to help with July 4th for the primary benefit of the WVFD. RAAC also wants to showcase the local area.
A resolution was passed by the council stating in part, “the Town Council of the Town of Washington, Virginia does hereby authorize RAAC to organize, facilitate and conduct the Fourth of July Celebration in the Town as a Town-sponsored event, and the town will continue to underwrite the costs of the fireworks display; further the authorization for RAAC to organize, facilitate, and conduct the Fourth of July Celebration is contingent upon
