Churchill of this and offered to send someone out to get some. Churchill unhesitatingly said that would be nice so Harry Jr. was sent to the store on a mission to bring back mustard.

Yet it was a quality that not all his hosts appreciated. During his visit, said Byrd Jr., Churchill told Mrs. Byrd the time he would like his meals and “then he began to supervise the menu. My mother would have been happy had the Britisher received an emergency call to return to Parliament.”
Byrd Jr. recalls with a smile that once Churchill had departed, his mother told his father, “Harry, don’t you ever invite that man back.”
