Free Development Screening Set

The Rappahannock County Public School System is sponsoring a free developmental screening for children birth to 21 years of age from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 25 to Nov. 25.

Most children show regular signs of growth and development during the first five years. Children who do not meet these developmental milestones may need immediate or future special services.

This is a chance for children to be checked for development in the areas of speech and language, general development, social skills and vision.

This screening is not designed to determine if a child is ready for Kindergarten, which is scheduled for Spring, 1997. There is no charge to the parents for either screening.

Referrals for evaluation are also being accepted for children five to 21 inclusive, who are suspected of having disability. For more information call 987-8259.
