The soup is on and Winter is coming! This past weekend, with cooler temperatures arriving, our thoughts turned to those steaming bowls of soup. H Soup is a liquid food especially made with a meat, sometimes fish or other vegetable stock as a base with the addition of pieces of solid food.
For a partner to a sandwich or salad, chose a side dish of soup and have a wonderful evening meal. One <}uart of soup yields approximately six servings, unless it is the main course.
The possibilities are endless as we begin the soup and stew season. Many Rappahannock cooks will have special Soup blend mixtures in their freezers from the past garden season.
