Miss Wanda May Payne and David Wayne Jeffries Jr. were united in marriage on Saturday, May 30, 1998 at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville.
The 2 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor John K. Burke and Rev. Jon Heddleston.
Pianist was Matthew Payne of Sperryville. Michelle Hitt of Rixeyville was soloist and sang “The Rose” and “Because You Loved Me.”
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert B. Payne of Washington.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Jeffries of Madison.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a traditional floor length satin gown featuring a sculptured neckline accented in sequins and pearls. The fitted bodice was trimmed with matching sequins and pearls like those of the neckline. The back of her gown fell into a V-shape accented with a bow and bows also adorned the bottom of her train. She carried a bouquet of white silk roses accented with ivy, baby’s breath and pearls.
The bride chose Miss Melissa Payne of Washington, sister of the bride, to serve as her maid of honor. She was attired in a jade tea-length satin gown which was accented with a bow in the back. Jade satin shoes complimented her gown. She carried a silk bouquet of peach and white rosebuds accented with ivy, baby’s breath and pearls.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Sharon Dodson of Culpeper, sister of the bride. She wore a gown identical to that of the maid of honor and jade satin shoes complimented her gown also. She carried a bouquet identical to that of the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Amy Payne of Sperryville, cousin of the bride, Miss Jennifer Brundage of Madison, friend of the bride and Miss April Hawkins of
