Chapter seven covers the future land use plan and how land use planning applies to the county’s natural resources, agriculture, economic development, residential development, historic preservation, public facilities and transportation. It is intended to “bring into focus all of the diverse parts of the plan, and contains the county’s final recommendations, which are stated in both text and map form.”
Implementation — covering zoning, subdivision, land use assessment, agricultural and forestal districts, open space easements, and the need for continued planning — is set forth in chapter eight.
In summary citizen support is required to meet the goals, policies and principles set forth in the plan. Read the plan so you can support the planning commission and board of supervisors and help them make Rappahannock a scenic county.
