Just as they prepared to load the bus a report came in of a fire seven miles away. The task force responded and put the fire out. “The forester there said he had never seen a group respond so quickly and was impressed with the efficiency with which we put out the fire.”
After putting that flare-up out they left and spent 24 hours in rest and relaxation in Tallahassee (a requirement) before embarking on the long bus trip home. Swett said he finds it amazing that no one in Florida died in the fires there.
