I have requested that the school board grant me a semester of unpaid leave while I work on my appeal i and a masters of music education degree. At the beginning of the second semester I have requested that I would be allowed to return to my position as band director should the appeal prove successful.
I would like to thank all the people in the county who have been very kind and supportive of me through this most difficult time. Parents, students, interested community members and faculty members, who know me and have worked with me, have been overwhelming in their encouragement. I want them j to know that I will be forever grateful for their help during this difficult time.
I wish, in the interest of fairness, Ms. McBride would have called me or contacted me in some way, but after reading last weeks letters .to the editor it seems that talk- ■ ing to the people you are ; writing about is not a higbj priority.
