the Arlington Optimist Club and served as president of the McLean Lions Club.
An active member of the community, Mr. Cannon also was president of the Garden City Civic Association, and held memberships in the Northern Virginia Board of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers. Mr. Cannon was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Washington Golf and Country Club.
After retirement from the Rucker Corporation, Mr. Cannon operated his own real estate and appraisal company, B.F. Cannon and Associates, which he operated until deteriorating health led him to a second retirement at age 83.
Survivors include Lucy O’Bannon Cannon, his wife of 64 years; two sons, Burrell F. Cannon Jr. of Culpeper and Donnie Cannon of Leesburg; two grandchildren Elizabeth Butler and Brian Cannon of Leesburg; two great- grandchildren Ryan and Patrick Butler, also of Leesburg and two sisters Anna Byrd Williams of Alexandria and Clarita Haley of Hampton.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 3455 North Glebe Road, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made in Mr. Cannon’s name to the church.
