Forage Tour scheduled
A Eprage Tour will be held at Hungry Run Farm on Friday, Aug. 7. The event is sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension, Virginia Forage and Grassland Council and Rappahannock Farmers Association. The farm is owned by David Close and managed by Jane Naramore.
Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m. Program at 3 p.m. with Forage Management on Hungry Run Farm; How to Estimate Pasture Yield and Allocate Pasture; Grazing Management Effects on Forage Quality; Weed Control in Pastures; Cost Share and Tax Credits Available and How All of This Fits Together as topics of discussion.
A rib-eye sandwich dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Call the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619 to pre-register for dinner count or for directions to Hungry Run Farm.
