Burrell Cannon
County native
Burrell Frank “B.F.” Cannon died on Tuesday, July 7.
He was bom on Oct. 6, 1909 to Elizabeth Hannan Cannon and Benjamin Robert Cannon in Castleton.
A native of Rappahannock County were he spent his youth, he graduated from Rappahannock County High School in Sperryville. There he was active in sports, later playing semi pro baseball in the Shenandoah League.
During the Great Depression, Mr. Cannon entered the insurance business where he enjoyed a successful career. At the same time, he also worked part time as a real estate agent and, in 1948, was offered the position as sales manager of the George H. Rucker Corporation in Arlington, where he remained until his retirement.
B.F. Cannon was a founding member of Memorial Baptist Church in Arlington, where he served in many positions, including deacon and superintendent of Sunday Schools. He was a member of
