Happy 82nd birthday to Graham Hackley who will celebrate his birthday on Sept. 30. Mr. Hackley and his wife founded Hackley’s Store many years ago and he still wanders in occasionally to greet his old friends.

Our prayers are with Cathy Lou Smith during her illness. Cathy Lou has so many irons in the fire that I don’t know when she had “time” to get ill, but I do know God has many more plans for her to carry out.

Happy early birthday to Kimberly Sealock who will be eight years old on Oct. 5.

Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties will be holding parent/teacher conferences during the month of October.

Culpeper County will not have school on Monday, Oct. 12 due to parent/teacher conferences to be held for the elementary schools from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and from noon until 7 p.m. at the middle and high schools.

Rappahannock County schools will have a 2 p.m. early dismissal on Thursday, Oct. 22 with parent/teacher conferences to be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss the pros and Cons of your child’s academics. Find out where your child is succeeding so you can praise their accomplishments and learn where your child is struggling so you can help them in their studies. Our children need to know we care enough to make time for a 15 minute conference. Your support does make
