Next Monday, Oct. 5, there
will be a public hearing to discuss whether or not the Board of Supervisors should honor the School Board’s request to issue school bonds to pay for our much-needed Rappahannock County High School addition.
We urge people to attend this hearing to show their support for the school bond request. Without a doubt, now is the best possible time to issue these bonds by borrowing from the Virginia Public School Authority, the county’s cheapest source for school building money. We’d like to list a number of reasons why we think the supervisors should not delay making this VPSA bond request.
