The Town of Washington Planning Commission held its monthly meeting on Sept. 28 with council members Jeanne Butler, Jean Goodine, Mitzie Young, Steve Critzer and Carolyn Thornton attending the meeting.
The continued review of the Town of Washington’s Comprehensive Plan was the only business before the commission.
Previously, the commission completed the review of the town’s comp plan up to page 16 and shipped the section “Summary and Findings” on pages 16 and 17 in anticipation of Milton Herd’s final report. v
At the recent Monday night meeting, the commission continued its review uj»f pages 18 through 20. They corrected the copy for grammar and clarity and struck out policy items on underground utility | wiring and several unenforceable sections on zoning.
At page 20, the commission decided to defer review of the remaining four pages relating to services and facilities, town water and sewage, trash, fire and rescue operations, funding and land use regulations, until Herd’s report is received.
At the regular meeting of the Washington Town Council at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, the commission will present the pages they have reviewed. The commission will meet again in an informal workshop when Herd’s report is available and continue its review the comp plan at that * time.
The next regular monthly planning commission meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the town hall.
