HappanannocK News Hhoto/Gerald Ochs REOPENED: Hackley’s Store, above, freshly painted and ready to serve. At left, Brad Nicholas, new proprietor, and Assistant Sabrina Hibbits, man the caftoter.

The store’s fuel tanks will be tested and recertified soon, and gasoline will be available at Hackley’s within the month.

Nicholas is all set to run an orderly and profitable business, and to support the needs of local residents and visitors. His one hope is that he can do “half as good as Uncle Graham.”

Hackley’s Store is now open Monday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The telephone number is (540) 937-5373.

The store has always been well-patronized by local folk and by visitors to Rappahannock, and with Springtime now upon us, this inviting place is certain to be busier than ever.
