Benefit bake sale planned
An Easter bake sale will be held on April 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Talk-of-the-Town in Washington to benefit the Piedmont Feline Rescue League. Homemade pies, cookies and cakes will be available.
Democratic Committee to meet
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold its regularly scheduled first-Wednesday-of-evenmonths meeting at the Rappahannock Library at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7. Sculpture Class to begin
A spring sculpture class, figure in clay will be held April 6 through May 25 on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 at Oldway Art Center in Sperryville. The class will be taught by Charles Flickinger. Call 987-8718 or 987-8474 for additional information.
First Thursday Group to meet
First Thursday Education Support Group will meet to discuss the 1999-2000 school budget on Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. Dr. David Gangel, Superintendent has been invited to talk about the proposed school budget that will be sent to the board of supervisors by April 1. Dr. Gangel will also bring the initial blueprints for the high school expansion project and new athletic fields for an update on that project. Please bring your questions and join the group which gathers every other month to talk about education issues in an atmosphere of constructive conversation. Ice returns to Pine Knot
There will be a dance at Pine Knot Inn with R&B band, Ice from Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 3 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admission is $5.
Easter egg hunt scheduled
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 3 at 11 a.m. All children in the community are invited to attend.
Reagan Day dinner set
James C. Miller, President Reagan’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget and member of the National Security Council, will speak at the Reagan Day Dinner to be held on Saturday, April 10.
