and unusual items they find while collecting trash on Rappahannock roadsides. Perhaps they would go together into an interesting collage, mobile, sculpture, lamp, diarama, or other artistic assemblage.
The “objects d’art” will be displayed at the TFR picnic and awards ceremony, and we hope to arrange for a show or display of the items at one or more of Rappahannock’s stores, galleries, or shops. Some of the pieces will be offered for sale, with the proceeds going to a local non-profit organization specified by the artist/creator of the piece.
Because this is a “first” for TFR, the rules are evolving: the present guidelines are:
1. The art pieces should consist primarily of items picked up on Rappahannock’s roadsides as discarded trash. Obviously it may be necessary to use some glue, wire, nails, screws or other materials for attaching or assembling the items.
Other non-trash items are also allowed, such as a display base, a socket, bulb and cord for
