A relatively quiet week in Rappahannock County was marred by several incidents of vandalism and one burglary, according to reports filed by the Sheriff s Office.
Near midnight on Saturday, March 27, Dep. Connie Compton responded to a complaint that two male juveniles were breaking lights at the Rappahannock Recreation Center on U. S. 211.
Dep. Compton went to the scene and apprehended the juveniles, who had been throwing bricks at the lights. They were taken to the Sheriffs Office, where they were detained until their parents took custody.
The boys, both residents of Warren County, will be charged at a later date.
Mailboxes hit
Random vandalism to mailboxes was also reported.
On March 28 at around 9 a.m:, Capt. Jeffrey Brown of the Sheriff s Office responded to a complaint of damage to four mailboxes on Briar Ridge Lane (Rt. 681) near Sperryville.
