; , The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold its first meeting of the New Year on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library. Guest Peter B. Schwartz from the Fauquier Democratic Committee will bring a spirit-raising message. Planning for the New Year will fill out the evening. Bring your calendars and stay for the conversation and cookies.
Meetings of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee are held at 7:30 p.m. at the Library on the first Tuesday of every month, and all are welcomed.

Tournament set
The Rappahannock County High School Athletic Department will host an Alumni Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 29 and 30 at the high school gymnasium. Players are needed to fill teams in a men's and women's bracket.
There will be a $10 registration fee per player which must be paid in advance. Players will be issued and allowed to keep their uniform shirt. . . Alumni interested in playing or in being a team captain/coach should contact Kelly Settle at RCHS 987-8575. Proceeds from this event, to include registration fees will be used to support RCHS athletic programs.
