PTO Secretary Y' The December PTO group met and the following activities/reports were issued:
Playground
Shannon Swain announced ■she will be stepping aside as ' Playground Committee chair. She and PTO President Jimmy Swindler will contact active committee members, especially Jennifer Deal, • about a transition to new leadership.
After many years of Swain's strong and capable leadership her contributions will be very much missed.
Swain and the meeting attendees discussed the current status of the pavilion project. She emphasized the need for a project manager who , knows construction to pull together the various aspects of • ;the job. Selecting a site for the • structure was discussed in some detail, with no firm resolution.
There are two competing possibilities: on the upper playground near the soccer fields, or behind the school near the new baseball fields. •The benefits were weighed with the general guideline of trying to serve the largest group of users.
Maintenance and potential for misuse were also compared for the two alternatives, but the president expressed the preference that fears of misuse should not be the primary deciding factor in siting.
