A young woman named Mary arrived. She got a passerby to notify 911 and then charged through the water. The two men followed. She wrapped Mr. Day in her coat and her arms, placed her hood on his head and then helped carry him to the ambulance. She knew what to do and she did it.
The Days were taken to the Warren Memorial Hospital. They were uninjured. It took the emergency room crew about an hour to warm Mr. Day up to normal. They then went home.
