Internationally published illustrator Stephen R. Wagner’s personal art was the focus of a month-long show at the Bedford Gallery, Longwood College, Farmville, during November.
The exhibition featured art work produced solely for the artist and not for commercial clients. The 30 painting, drawings and prints were chosen evenly between Wagner's annual Christmas cards and his fantasy food. Many of these food and holiday pieces were displayed at the Rappahannock Library during July and November of 1999.
A closing reception held Dec. 9 was well attended by students and faculty, who expressed interest and support. The students were particularly interested in the several exhibits showing the development of a piece of art from conception to finished product, including Wagners 1999 "Y2K" Christmas card, and a large food fantasy, Carnival in Venice,
