The Rappahannock Hunt has scheduled a Junior fox hunt to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 from the Club Hound Kennels at M.F.H. Fletcher's Thornton Hill Farm. This New Year's Eve hunt will be cap-free, which means that all junior hunters are invited to take part without paying the usual capping fee of $5. Jeffrey LeHew, a Jr. member and one of the winning teams of the 1975 Orange County Hunt's time trails, will act as Master of Fox Hounds on that day. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Payne of Washington celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Payne, Locust Shade Farm at Amissville*. The Paynes were married Dec. 19, 1925 in Luray. They have seven children, all of whom joined them Sunday. Members of the Washington Ladies Auxiliary were honored with a surprise dinner Dec. 15 given by the men of the Fire Company and Rescue Squad. The men prepared and served the dinner which was a gesture to show their appreciation for the support which these women give all year.
