Blue Jays are large, sociable birds. Some people love them and 1 some people love to hate them. Regardless of your position, the Blue Jays can be found throughout our county. Personally, I rather like the Blue Jay.
The Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is a bird that wears my favorite color very well. Standing up to a foot tall, the Blue Jay is not entirely blue. | It has a white belly, chin and face with a noticeable black ring that resembles a necklace, extending from 1 the back of its head and around to its breast. The Blue Jay also has a crest on top of its head that can be raised and lowered at will.
Anyone that has observed a Blue Jay for any length of time knows these birds have a habit of "planting" seeds and acorns. Jays are actually very beneficial and are responsible for many of the trees and forests we ! have.
Their loud voice and aggressive manner will always let us know when they are in our backyard.
The Blue Jay is, admittedly, a bit of a birdfeeder bully at times. It will come swooping in to a feeder with wings spread and doing the best verbal imitation of a hawk you will ever hear. This then causes other bifds at
