The Tiger Swallowtail, (Papilio glaucus), is one of the most common and most well known butterflies in eastern North America. Geographically speaking the tigers can be found from Alaska, east across Canada and south throughout Eastern U.S. Few butterflies eryoy such a large range.
The Tiger Swallowtail is approximately four to six inches. Males and females look the same-yellow with back tiger-stripes across the wings and a black border that is spotted with yellow. Near their long tails are blue and orange spots.
