Nelson Nethers

Army veteran

Nelson Arnold Nethers, 87, of Sperryville died Thursday, May 24 at Culpeper Regional Hospital.

He was bom April 17, 1914 in Nethers, Va. to the late William Clifton Nethers and Inez Brown Nethers.

Mr. Nethers was a veteran .of the United States Army serving in World War II. . He was a member of Sperryville United Methodist Church, a member of the Rappahannock County Post Masonic Lodge #1150 and a member of the Rappahannock V.F.W.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pearle Lillard Nethers of Sperryville and three daughters, Bernice Coates and her husband, John of Brightwood, Joan Bolyard and her husband, Larry of Keyser, W.Va. and Joyce Bolyard of Englewood, Fla.

Additional survivors include ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two brothers, Ray Nethers of Stephens City and Clifton Nethers of Amissville.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 26 at Sperryville United Methodist Church with Rev. Merlin Shorb officiating.

Interment followed in Etlan Cemetery.

Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
