Become a part of an annual event and
make a difference in the life a child
Friday, June 1 marks the seventh annual DARE
Day celebration at Rappahannock County
Elementary School.
Captain Jeff Brown of the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office and our School Resource Officer plans and prepares for this event all year long. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m.
Volunteers and helpers are always needed and if you would like to become a part of an annual event that children, young and old look forward to, then get busy and participate in DARE Day. We’ll see you there!
EMS Week

be afraid to offer your services
National Emergency Medical Services Week was
celebrated last week, May 20-26 and even
though we failed to recognize the individuals at that time it is certainly never to late to thank a volunteer and become involved in a program. The week itself is a celebration to honor approximately 750,000 EMS providers nationwide who deliver lifesaving emergency care, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This year’s theme was “Answering the Call” and providers everywhere serve their communities and work hard to protect and improve our lives. We each need to take the time to learn more about injury prevention, safety awareness and emergency preparedness.
This Saturday, June 2 the Sperryville Rescue Squad will host an open house and have their new ambulance available for the public to view. We encourage residents to stop by the squad building on Main Street in Sperryville and most of all thank those who are “Answering the Call.”
