John H. Johnson and Florence Gore Johnson. His wife was the late Juluette Cotten Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was retired as Chief Forester from the Virginia Department of Forestry for Rappahannock County. He was also a retired farmer, having raised apples and peaches.
He was an avid beekeeper and a member of the Beekeeper’s Association.
Mr. Johnson was a charter member and past-president of Rappahannock Lions Club and a member of Woodville Baptist Church for 75 years serving as a deacon and treasurer.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by five brothers, Clarence Johnson, Louis Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Clyde Johnson and Donald Highlander and one sister, Jessie Johnson Dailey.
Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, May 27 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery at Woodville by the Rev. Ernest Cornwell.
Clore-English Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
