Rappahannock Animal Welfare League, (RAWL), will be hosting for the first time ever a “Dog Day Afternoon" this coming Saturday, June 2 outside Flint Hill at Freddy Kummli’s Windsor Lodge from noon to 5 p.m.
In an effort to reach out to the community, showcase a wide range of canine talent, and promote animal rescue and rehoming, the Board of Directors of RAWL have planned an afternoon filled with fun dog competitions, demonstrations, entertainment, races, and much more.
Three rings will be running all afternoon. In one ring Mountain View Agility will keep the action going with agility fun-run competition and instructor assisted introduction to the obstacles.
“Just-for-fun" classes in a second ring are open to all with entries taken that day. So bring your dog and have some fun competing in best dog trick, dog/owner lookalike, the dress up derby, or the hot dog hustle.
The third ring features demonstrations: customs dogs, search and rescue dogs, free style dancing dogs, high level obedience, and "HowTb-Start" training demonstrations by Cathy Hughes with some of RAWL’s endless supply of dogs in search of owners. The grand finale in
