The Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community has selected a wide variety of films to be shown at The Theatre on Gay Street in Washington this fall. They are films many of you have suggested we bring to the community. All are outstanding in their own right.
We hope you will come out to The Theatre on the first and third Friday nights beginning in September to enjoy the films and your neighbors afterwards over refreshments either on the sidewalk in front of The Theatre or in the lobby.
• Sept. 7: “Chocolat” (PG-13, 121 minutes) In a tantalizing tale about desire, Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche) and her six year old daughter (Victoire Thivisiol) open a chocolate shop in a provincial French Village. The townspeople are shocked when Vianne leaves her shop open during Lent, but her confections are too tempting for them to resist. Stars Johnny Depp, who wants more than sweets from beautiful Vianne, and Dame Judith Dench and Leslie Caron. Received five Oscar nomina
