For a sting we would apply vinegar and then soda. This would soon take the hurt away. If you were not where this was available, you could use wet mud or any type of tobacco if it was wet.
An old time remedy for a cough was to mix equal parts of honey and vinegar. Another remedy was to use equal parts of warm water and vinegar with honey for arthritis.
You see very few honey bees any more because there is a varroa mite, a voracious pest that has gotten into the hives, and sucks the blood. They can decimate an entire colony in less than a year. Imagine you had a tick on you the size of a softball, that’s what its like for the honey bee.
