ring Julia Roberts, Catherine ZetaJones, Billy Crystal and John Cusack. Roberts begins as a frumpy, overweight assistant to a hot movie star (Zeta-Jones). But Jones’s character becomes distasteful while Robert’s becomes increasingly appealing by comparison. And, of course, it’s Jones’s husband (Cusack) who begins to have eyes for Roberts. Everyone shines.

Ed Harris is nothing short of brilliant as Pollock portraying the man who, during the 1940s and 1950s in New York, helped create the abstract expressionist movement and break art wide open. Marcia Gay Harden plays Pollock’s wife in the strongest performance of her career.
