being involved in PTO. And more importantly, you have an opportunity to set an example for your kids, to show them that you care about their school experience and about their school.
I could easily devote this whole article to the many benefits which PTO provides but being a parent, a soon to be teacher and PTO president, you would probably realize that I am somewhat biased.
Instead I will tell you to ask your child’s teacher about PTO’ influence in our schools and then make your decision. I have every confidence that what you hear will be as much if not more impressive than what I would tell you.
Membership in PTO is no guarantee that your children will look at you adoringly and become the polite, civic minded citizens that we all want our children to be. But by being involved you do have another opportunity to set a positive example for your kids to follow.
