hunters who shoot at anything that moves and pay no attention to the dates of the hunting season.
Where I grew up, we weren't lucky enough to have big mammals like bear and deer: we were bird hunters.
But I grew un with an honor code about hunting that I think applies as much today as it did way back then: Never take game out of season; eat what you kill; and never shoot a sitting duck or a bird on a wire.
On a brighter note, I am pleased to hear that slow pitch softball is coming back to the County.
