The Board of Supervisors did
the children of our county an injustice at this month’s meeting by cutting the schools budget by $176,000. These elected officials have not done their job and the parents of this county should be outraged!
The programs that have been cut to balance the budget, like the “Jump Start” kindergarten, is a great program. As a parent of two children that attended last year, it is not right that future kindergartners will not have the same advantage as my children did.
These supervisors have been in office way too long! Mr. Estes has been here for 20 years, Mr. Anderson for 16 years neither one of these men, along with Mr. Frazier, have children in our school system. Yet they are making the decisions that are affecting our children.
Mr. Lee, who was a school board member and who was part of the process that hired Dr. Gangel, .seems to have lost touch with what is important for our children’s education.
