College night, aid
workshop planned
The RCHS Guidance Department is having a college information night/financial aid workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. The Financial Aid workshop will begin at 7 p.m.
General information on colleges and applying for financial aid as well as a workshop for students on how to compose an essay for college applications and scholarships will be offered. Students in grades 8-12 along with their parents are encouraged to attend. For further information call Jason Gochenour at 987-8575.
Holiday closings
The Rappahannock County Government Offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday as will the Rappahannock Public School System.
Area post offices, the Rappahannock National Bank and the Rappahannock News will be closed on Thursday, however will assume regular business hours on Friday.

• Monday, Dec. 2 at 2 and 7 p.m., the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors will meet at the Rappahannock Courthouse.
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-8, “Christmas in Washington” celebration.
• Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. the Rappahannock School Board will meet in the Band Room at RCHS.
• Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m., the Washington Town Council will meet at the Washington Town Hall.
