Edward and Suzanne Kraus, who live at 600 Battle Mountain Road off US 211 are expecting, again this year for Thanksgiving, both their parents, Shirley Sheehan (Suzanne’s mother) and Edward and Shirley Kraus. Richard Kraus, who resides in Washington, D.C. and often spends time in Amissville with his brother and sister-in-law will also be joining them for the holiday.
Suzanne, and both Shirleys, prepare the turkey and all the trimmings while Ed bakes several delicious ; homemade pies.
Ed Kraus (father) and Rich Kraus (son and brother) participate as well with good spirits.
With the paper arriving one day earlier this week even though still dated for Thursday Amissville residents are reminded of the annual Thanksgiving community service for Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. The Amissville Ruritan Club, Amissville United Methodist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, Amissville United Methodist Women and Amissville Baptist Church have been celebrating this service for over 25 years.
All attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the service.
The annual community food basket project sponsored by the Amissville Ruritan Club is also underway. Community
