Mr. Johns studied at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of Minnesota. After holding several photojournalism jobs at major newspapers, he became a contract photographer for National Geographic in 1985 and in 1995 he became a staff photographer. In 2001 he was promoted to Senior Editor of Illustrations, a position responsible for all photography, maps and art for National Geographic.
Mr. Johns is excited about the show, “This book is the culmination of a lot of hard work and I’m very pleased with how it came out. It is gratifying to have the first exhibit of photos from the book right here at home where my friends and neighbors can share in my excitement.”
Cheri Woodard, Art Director of Long View Gallery, is enthusiastic about the exhibition, “This show m a must see for anyone interested in art and photography. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented artist in our community. If you know Chris, you won’t want to miss this show. And if you haven’t met him, this is a great opportunity — he really enjoys meeting new people.”
