Award winning National Geographic photographer Chris Johns will exhibit photographs from his new book, Wild at Heart, in Long View Gallery in Sperryville, Virginia from Nov. 29 through Dec. 30. There will be a reception in the gallery for Mr. Johns on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. and he will also be available for coffee and conversation on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to both events.

Wild at Heart features over 100 stunning photographs of the people, land and wildlife of southern Africa and essays by best selling writer Peter Godwin. Nelson Mandela writes the forward. Copies of the book will be on sale in Long View Gallery during the show.

Mr. Johns’ African photographs are evocative and emotional images of the people, land and wildlife of a continent struggling to find the balance between new and old in a changing world. The show ranges from dramatic photojournalistic images to artful shots of breathtaking beauty.

His work combines the highest technical standards, a deep concern for conservation of the earth’s natural treasures, and the eyes of a great artist. Many of the photographs in the exhibit have been included in the pages of National
