The Washington Tbwn Council unanimously voted council member Reinhardt Lynch as vice mayor at its meeting last week.
Mr. Lynch, who is co-owner of the Inn at Little Washington, spoke briefly and graciously to the council saving that he “served for fourteen years on the council and (I) have never been considered.”
He said that he was grateful for the council’s action.
Earlier, Mayor Stew Willis had asked the council for nominations for the vice mayor position that was held by former council member Steve Critzer.
Mayor Willis said that Mr. Critzer was “an important individual” to the town and that he looked for someone with similar abilities.
Council member Claudia Mitchell nominated Mr. Lynch.
