Marshall Jones
Marshall Jones, a Rappahannock County resident, recently was selected by President Bush to receive a Presidential Rank Award for his accomplishments.
Mr. Jones, deputy director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, received the annual award, which is given to a select number of career senior executives, to recognize his “exceptional service” during his 29 years with the government.
When the administration changed in January 2001, Mr. Jones led the 8,000-employee Fish and Wildlife Service for more than a year while Steve Williams of Kansas was awaiting confirmation as the agency’s new director.
