Jon Gordon won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition in 1996. He appears regularly as a member of the Jazz Nativity, whose other featured musicians have included Tito Puente, Ron Carter and Dave Brubeck.
Over the years he has worked with Barney Kessel, Maria Schneider, T.S. Monk, Phil Woods, and many others. He has led his own quartet at European, Canadian and U.S. Jazz * Festivals, and at many jazz clubs.
Recent New York appearances include Blue Note, Birdland, Visiones, the 92nd Street Y, and % the JVC Jazz Festival. Among g the many accolades which he has / garnered over the years from the g press is Mick Joyce’s description in The Washington Post, “ ... an g exceptionally gifted player and composer.”
Tickets for the concert on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m., are $15 , for adults and $5 for students 18 and under.
