It was not a serious accident, a single-vehicle crash west of Sperryville. Two rescue companies and two Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office personnel quickly arrived on the scene. But a Virginia State Trooper had to be sent to investigate, and the closest one was in Warrenton. The trooper normally on duty in Rappahannock was assisting in a major drug bust elsewhere.
