Angela Albrecht’s efforts to capture the old Sperryville sehoolhouse for use bv local retailers continue, and a meeting of interested parties on Dec. 1 / added more prospects to the mix.
Ms. Albrecht hosted the meeting as a follow-up to an initial meeting held in late October where more than a dozen people expressed an interest in participating in some form of cooperative retailing venture in the building which most recently housed the Faith Mountain Company.
Fewer people attended the December meeting, but Ms. Albrecht said that she is continuing discussions with some of the original attendees by telephone and that the co-op idea is progressing.
The concept is for local business people to form an association that would lease the retail space from owner Cliff Miller and bear collective responsibility for utilities and common space maintenance.
