Ring in the New Year The annual “First Night Warrenton" New Year’s Eve celebration will be held on Dec. 31 in historic Old Town Warrenton. This alcohol-free family oriented event has over 25 performing acts and 200 entertainers, plus plenty of food and horse-drawn haywagon rides. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and end with a candle lighting at midnight. Advance tickets are $7 for adults and $2 for children six to 12 years of age. For ticket information, call 349-0010.
Bloodmobile coming Jan. 3 Mark your calender for Friday, Jan. 3 for the next bloodmobile at the Washington Fire Hall. It will run from 3 to 7 p.m. Start the New year out by giving the gift of life to someone in need. For further information call 675-3638. EMT course announced The 110-hour Emergency Medical Technician course will be offered at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company, beginning on Jan. 7 and continuing through May 13. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m. Persons competing the course and passing the state examination will be certified in Virginia as EMTs. The enrollment fee is $20 per student, and textbook cost (Brady’s Emergency Care) is approximately $60. Enrollees must have a current CPR card by Jan. 7. To register, call Ken Pullen at 675-3091.
