Virginia State Police have charged Timothy A. Coravos, 28, of Sperryville with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and refusing to take a breath test after the 1993 Subaru 4-door sedan he was driving went out of control last Tuesday on Route>231 and ended up abandoned in the opposite lane.

Trooper Don Corbin said in an interview later the man tried to slash his wrists.

Corbin said that according to witnesses, after the accident Coravos walked to a convenience store in nearby F.T. Valley and flagged down a passing car for a ride.
