The Rappahannock County High School varsity Lady Panthers team was not able to crack the winner’s circle in any of its last four games, dropping contests to Luray, 47-12, Central, 58-18, Manassas Park. 45-20, and Clarke, 59-31.
The team now has a record of 1-16 and 0-5 in the Bull Run District.
A tough shooting first half doomed the Lady Panthers against Luray as the team did not hit a field goal the entire half, getting only two free throws from Brittany Thornhill as Luray raced out to a 25-2 half time lead. Sherri Woodward scored all six of her team-leading points in the second half to lead the Panthers.
Cold first-half shooting continued to plague the Lady Panthers against Central as Molly Burke scored the only first quarter basket for the Panthers as they fell behind 152 after one quarter. Samantha Brown lead the Panthers with four second quarter points but the Panthers found themselves down 33 10 at the half. Courtney Hutcheson and Sherri Woodward both had three fourth quarter points for the Lady Panthers.
The team held Manassas Park to five first quarter points
